Daniel Coates joined the firm in April 2011 with over 7 years experience in the legal arena.
Daniel previously worked at Legal Aid Queensland, holding various positions responsible for interpreting legislation and developing policies reflecting the current financial and political environments affecting disadvantaged Queenlanders.
Daniel’s tertiary qualifications include Bachelor of Psychology, Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, all obtained from the Queensland University of Technology. During his studies, Daniel was invited to join the Golden Key International Honours Society in recognition of scholastic achievement and excellence in his law study.
Daniel has experience representing clients personally and also by instructing counsel in Court, including the Family Court of Australia and the Federal Magistrates Court. However Daniel finds it most rewarding to be assisting clients negotiate their disputes through non-court based methods, such as mediation, collaborative process, or by simply negotiating.
Daniel appreciates that there is more to helping clients following separation than just assisting with the legal implications, and Daniel always ensures that the financial and emotional issues, for both parents and children, are cared for and catered to through one of the hardest times in someone's life. By working closely with barristers, counsellors, accountants and financial planners, clients achieve the best outcomes possible and are able to move forward in their lives with security and peace of mind.
